Primer AND Paint:
We at Triad Trailers, LLC. realize
that trailers spend the majority of their lives within
a marine environment. That's why we have chosen, and
tested, Keeler and Long's 2 component Epoxy Primer and
their 2 component Acrylic Urethane Enamel top coat for
our protective coatings. With 15 stock colors and 30
optional custom colors, these coatings' durability,
dependability, and luster will protect your trailer
for the many years to come.
Galvanizing:
Galvanizing is the process of dipping
bare steel into a tank filled with molten zinc. During
the process the molten Zinc adheres to the raw steel
and creates a rugged rust-resistant finish. We offer
the galvanized finish, as opposed to the painted finish,
on trailers for boats that are less than 29 feet in
length.
Axles:
The axle or axles are one of the most
important structural feature of any trailer. Along with
the structural trailer frame the axles dampen the effects
of road shock, determine the carrying capacity of the
trailer, and determine the distance the keel will sit
off the ground. Twenty-two years experience and thousands
of Triad Trailers have led us to believe that Dexter
Axle produces the most technologically advanced axles.
Both conventional spring sprung axles and independent
suspension rubber ride TORFLEX axles are incorporated
into our trailers. Refer to the Models section of our
site for the running system that your trailer will come
equipped with.
An added advantage of our Dexter Axles
is that we have them equipped with the unique E-Z lube
bearing lubrication system. This allows the axle to
be periodically lubricated without removing the hubs
or drums from the axle. This feature consists of axle
spindles that have been specially drilled and fitted
with a grease zerk in their ends. When grease is pumped
into the zerk, it is channeled to the inner bearing
and then flows back to the outer bearing and eventually
back out the grease cap hole.
Trailer Lighting:
Safety is one of our top priorities
at Triad Trailers, LLC. We have chosen lights that are
rust-resistant as well as aesthetically pleasing. All
of our lights either meet or exceed the D.O.T. requirements
on the date the trailer is manufactured. Peterson Manufacturing
is the supplier for our side marker and clearance lamps
and for our 3-Id aft light bar. Wesbar manufactures
our 7-way rear "Wrap Around" tail lights that
contain a vacuum sealed bulb.
Trailer Components:
Triad Trailers name is placed on every
single trailer we fabricate, so it's no wonder why we
protect our reputation by using the most durable trailer
components available. As you read through the Models
section of our site you will notice that we give the
manufactures name of the trailer accessories we incorporate
into the trailers design. We have nothing to hide because
we have confidence in our suppliers. If at any time
you would like more information on our trailer component
manufactures than is provided here, please contact us.
We will do our best to provide you with the information
you request.
Trailer ID Tags:
All the information you need right
on your trailer! Looking for your VIN Number or the
maximum P.S.I. of the tires? No need to worry. All the
important information about your trailer is stamped
onto our specially embossed trailer Identification tags
that are riveted to the tongue of the trailer. Important
information such as: Model Number, Serial Number, Gross
Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Axle Weight Rating
(GAWR), tire size, tire maximum pressure, rim size,
date of manufacture, and Vehicle Identification Number
(VIN No.) is easily accessible for quick reference.
A Custom Fit:
Unlike power boat trailers, sailboat
trailers have to be designed according to the hull shape,
placement, size, and type of keel, the draft, and the
boats center of gravity. Taking these factors into mind
we design our trailers to provide a custom fit, not
a forced fit. We have designed over 1,000 different
trailers for various sailboats either in production
today or out of production for quite some time. If we
don't have a trailer plan for your sailboat in our files,
we will locate either lines drawings of the boats hull,
or an identical sister ship.
